ABSTRACT

In 1990s, the representative animation works of Taiwan, China include animated short film Taipei! Taipei! (1993), animated feature film Zen Taipei Ah-Kuan (1994), Grandma and Her Ghosts (1997), and Annie's Magic Raccoon (1998). Animated short film Taipei! Taipei!, directed by Shi Changjie, describes the history of Taipei city. Animated feature film Zen Taipei Ah-Kuan, whose screenwriter is Xiaoye and model designer is Cai Zhizhong, mainly focuses on the youth problem and cultural concept. In the 1990s, Taiwan, China, began to import and apply 2D animation production software processing to replace manual work. In real-person films, they attempted to use animation special effects as well. At the end of the 1990s and beginning of the 21st century, with common use of personal computer software and hardware and mature internet environment, a number of small workshops, which posted their works on the internet, were established.
