ABSTRACT
The Butterfly Lovers: Leon and Jo is an animated film produced in 2003 by the Taiwan, China Central Pictures Corporation and Shanghai Animation Film Studio. In order to attract more young audience, the Huangmei Opera used in the original film Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai are changed into popular R&B. Jacky Wu was invited for the dubbing of Ma Wencai and a RAP song You Can’t Help but Know Who I am. A touch of comedy is added through the animation. Fire Ball: Journey to the West – The Secret behind the Fiery Mountains was produced by Wang Film Productions Co. Ltd. in 2005 and simulcasted in Asia in August the same year, with an investment of USD 5 million. This film is about Monk Tang leading four apprentices – Monkey King, Monk Pig, Monk Sand, and White Dragon Horse to India to seek the book of intelligence and truth across long distance.
