ABSTRACT
Applying the science of quality management to career development is an innovative approach backed by over a hundred years of historical proof of concept. The science of quality management includes data-driven decision making and management. Data is king, which is one of the reasons why the science of quality management falls into the STEM bucket. Objective data is factual and provides accurate indisputable conclusions. An objective statement is based on facts. It can be easily proven and is impossible to deny. Therefore, more university math and statistics courses are required by the engineering department than by the psychology department. Research in the psychology field is much more subjective. Subjective research focuses on experiences from the perspective of an individual and emphasizes the importance of personal viewpoints and interpretations. It comes to play when exploring customer satisfaction with finished products or services.
