ABSTRACT

Despite the many comparative advantages of faith-based organizations in serving the ultra-poor, they also have flaws and weaknesses that limit their effectiveness in development work. Many of these flaws could neither be affirmed nor invalidated by our sample of missionaries because of the self-reported nature of our data set. These comparative disadvantages of faith-based organizations have yet to be evaluated as future data become available. This concluding chapter summarizes the findings of this research effort and presents recommendations for practical action and further exploration going forward.
