ABSTRACT

There are numerous models for thinking about what happens between people in a team or group. Mark found himself noticing with reference to triangulation. This idea of triangulation is one of several aspects of family systems described by Murray Bowen. According to Bowen every one-to-one relationship is unstable to some extent, even the very best and strongest relationships. There is always some anxiety in a relationship at some point in time. That anxiety tends to be discharged onto a third person, and the triangle is the smallest stable relationship.
