ABSTRACT

There is an old saying that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. However, when it comes to working with students or colleagues, sometimes giving attention to someone who is regularly complaining does not actually solve the problem. It may just reinforce it. Teachers have to remember to trust their instincts. If all teachers “trusted their gut” students would be treated with respect a lot more often. The first time a teacher was rude or yelled at a student there is a great chance that the student felt uncomfortable. If the student relied on his/her core senses he/she would reflect and work to never do it again. Teachers need to trust their instincts. Students need the best of the teachers. The real teachers.
