ABSTRACT
My long journey with Jasmine starts on Monday, September 29, 2008. Do you remember where you were on that day? I do because September 29, 2008, was my very first day of work. I was fresh out of law school and starting at a prestigious firm in Manhattan. It was also the day that the stock market crashed, losing 777.68 points in one day. 1 Along with dozens of my newly hired colleagues, I soon realized that, with the markets frozen, deals weren’t getting done, loans weren’t getting issued, and clients certainly weren’t interested in having some green, first-year attorneys work on the few projects that they did have.
