ABSTRACT

The Voice of the Customers (VOCs) are completed and ranked from the highest to lowest. The bottom of House of Quality 1 has the ranking number for each of the Critical to Qualities (CTQs) ranging from number 1 for Tube integrity down to number 8 for plugged filters with a CTQ importance value of 13. The best way to fill this House of Quality room is starting with the leftmost column and going down the rows one by one to assess each VOC. The VOCs are ready to be interpreted in a different light, by using their importance and how they are influenced by different dependent factors. Customer VOCs include wants and needs, and the CTQs include their metrics of success, either imposed from the industry they serve or Key Performance Indicators chosen from their business. This nicely packed matrix of information will become the foundation for House of Quality 2.
