ABSTRACT
This chapter is the second of three exercise plays within the book. The student director is asked to read the short play and then apply a series of guiding questions in the following chapter as initial exercises in the director’s process. These practical exercises help student directors apply collaborative stage directing principles in the safety of the classroom or workshop setting. Deleted is a short two-character play set in The Land of Delete. Allen, an unscrupulous businessman, wakes up in an unfamiliar place among stacks of files, blurry photos, and a cacophony of sounds. He is met by a young woman who claims to be the Keeper of this place. How he ended up in The Land of Delete is his puzzle to unravel.
