ABSTRACT
This chapter examines how everyday spaces and places are made to work in the worklives of mobile knowledge workers (MKWrs). We argue that the sociomaterial practices of worklife placing are relational, processual and reflexive. These practices centre on three aspects of placing mobile knowledge work (MKW): how organisational workplaces are made to work; the ways in which domestic spaces are infused by gendered worklife negotiations; and the reflexive work of (re)creating spaces and places as conducive to work. Together they entail the corollary work of simultaneously (re)configuring worklife and place to make MKW possible.
