ABSTRACT

Entitled after King’s last book, this chapter focuses on current events, and the very despairing time America is confronting in her history, with the forces of oppression and tyranny once again circling her shores. Collective trauma and the effects thereof are discussed utilizing the complex and trauma of racism as the sources of and worry about the health of America’s future. The author implores the reader to explore nonviolence as a way of life, which is readily available through the study of Gandhi and King’s nonviolent theories. The author discusses global warming as the next moral frontier, which is in the forefront of America’s consciousness as well as the rest of the world. In terms of activism shaping the new moral order, global warming may very well be the next Selma.
