ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the chief recommendations which represent either the unanimous or the majority opinion of the Commission. For convenience of presentation and to show their implications for missions they have been grouped in six divisions, viz. Social Welfare and Missions, Economics and Missions, Government and Missions, Education, Religious Work, and Missionary Personnel and Preparation. The Commission considers that the town location of the copper belt and railway line as centres of the future urban population of the Territory present special social needs for whose ministry the Christian mission has a peculiar responsibility. The Commission wish to call the attention of the mission societies to the changing conditions on the mission field of Central Africa, with the need of taking these changed conditions and their demands upon mission personnel into careful consideration in selecting and training their appointees.
