ABSTRACT

The global job market is rich, diverse and, like any employment situation, challenging and exacting. The interior design field is divided up into many different sectors and, because of its origins, also divided up into many employability fields and vacancy areas. It is important to remember that your portfolio must demonstrate a range of your skills. You need to be able to demonstrate a wide skill base and experience, even though the company you are applying to work for might specialise in a particular area. There is an increasing amount of employment for interior design graduates and, providing the candidate is prepared to work globally and to learn more cultural and regional aspects, they could work anywhere in the world. All the job descriptions require a broadly similar background and educational experience.
