ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book aims to cover most of the important parts of strength and conditioning and addresses injuries, age differences and its impact on training. It examines how level of competition impacts training, how to put everything together into a program, long-term periodization. The book provides a number of examples using various sports, and discusses strength and conditioning for individuals with disabilities.
