ABSTRACT

“The truth is not your friend” is illustrated with the concept of distracting truth. Working on location is discussed, and the equipment the director needs is listed. The actual process of going for a take and what happens next is noted, together with other Tricks of the Trade (such as always going from the previous moment of movement to the next moment of movement)—all this from many years of directing, and from my Notes From Me to Me that I have written up after every shoot since I started directing for the screen.
