ABSTRACT

A very straightforward creative technique is to ask varying questions, especially non-traditional ones. These questions could be asked in relation to any aspect of a company’s activities, for instance: business challenges, issues relating to a product or service, relationships with specific stakeholders, and strategy aspects. Even though some consider meditation a non-business practice, it has been used by global companies such as Google, Apple, and others to develop creative ideas and concepts. The meditative process can be performed by repeating a mantra such as “Om,” “love,” or any other, but meditation can also be done silently. A meditative state is optimal for the generation of creative thoughts, because it naturally squashes any defensive state which usually pervades a great part of work environments. In organisations, creativity and innovation can be fostered not only to resolve problems, but also to exploit untapped opportunities.
