ABSTRACT
Recently, videos of police brutality, immigration raids, and hate crimes have become an almost daily occurrence due to the continuous news cycles and social media. This chapter will focus on the relationship between chronic exposure to these videos and the subsequent trauma symptoms in children and adolescents. There will be an emphasis on how these videos and negative online racial encounters impact race relations in school, student-teacher relationships, and conversations within the school system.
