ABSTRACT

One of the hardest aspects of the job of colorist is building consensus in a team. This is generally exacerbated by the fact that color comes as practically the last step of the process, which means that even a group that was getting along like gangbusters at the start of preproduction might have frayed or simply burnt out from each other by the end. While in an ideal scenario a client or group of clients would sit down with a clear decision making process already in place, that is often not the case, and navigating the world of decision making is one of the skills that can keep a career thriving. Independent feature films are often one of the reasons most of us wanted to work in the industry in the first place. Corporate projects have a combination of the indie feature problem and the bigger feature problem.
