ABSTRACT
The truth is much more complicated: technology drives aesthetic trends, but aesthetic trends are not wholly created or limited by technology. In England, cinematographers were somewhat freer from the direct supervision of Ms. Kalmus and could create images based on their own testing with a different cinematographic effect. The Alexa is a wonderful camera for creating very accurate and pleasing colors without much processing, which makes processing easier since there is less time spent focusing on correcting unpleasant skin tones or other artifacts and more time spent on creative freedom. The traditional romantic comedy aesthetic is a combination of bright colors in production design and an obsessive focus on the fidelity of skin tones to actual skin tone colors. The color combination is designed specifically to make images “pop” off the screen and works well in conjunction with the goals of the action genre.
