ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 of ARM 4th Ed is entitled Measuring Facets Beyond Ability and Difficulty. This chapter argues that many other facets of the testing situation profitably can be considered as key aspects of the measurement process if we believe they systematically influence the overall score. The many-facets Rasch model (MFRM) is used to measure the effect that raters have in judging human performances such as essay writing, oral presentations, licensing examinations and the like. Worked examples are provided for analysis.
