ABSTRACT

The available documents on Epper’s case revealed that Jung was mistaken in one of his publications about the case of the sisters Mischa Epper and Maggy Reichstein. In a book written in 1957 by the Dutch psychiatrist R.J. van Helsdingen, Jung wrote in the preface that the case should not be confused with another case he treated. The case which Jung mentioned was the case of Reichstein. However, the case in the book of van Helsdingen was not the case of Mischa Epper, as Jung noted, but from another woman. This section presents the available information about this case, the similarities with Epper and Reichstein and also the possible reasons for Jung’s mistake.
