ABSTRACT

In the second part the story of the two sisters is revealed. Their aristocratic background; Reichstein’s birth in the East, the health problems of her mother after the birth of the second child; the birth of the third child (Epper) and the death of the mother in 1908 out of the complications which followed; Reichstein’s difficult relationship with father and grandmother and the rebellious attitude of Reichstein. Further, it presents how Epper developed a psychic illness in her puberty mostly due to the problems in the family. Finally, it was Epper’s illness which led Reichstein to bring her to Switzerland for treatment. Based on historical documents, this chapter discusses the events in their lives which impressed Jung.
