ABSTRACT

Transport on own account is a factor of some importance in the field of goods transport, side by side with commercial goods transport. “Transport for own account” means the transport carried out by a physical or juridical person for its own requirements. From the point of view of transport policy, only transport on own account beyond the municipal areas in which the actual undertakings are located is of vital importance. In road transport the tasks of the operators become more difficult in view of the fact that transport on own account takes up a disproportionally large area of roads. On grounds of transport policy an excessive expansion of transport on own account is bound to cause grave concern, because it creates a serious obstacle to a genuine coordination of transport. Permits should only be granted within the framework of a quota established for transport on own account.
