ABSTRACT
In Chapter 19, I observe that male physicians who sexually abuse adult female patients do so as a result of character disturbance, severe psychiatric disorder, or when they are emotionally vulnerable; these are not mutually exclusive categories. The several options needed to deal with this abuse are discussed. It needs to be determined whether abusive physicians can be rehabilitated, and what kind of education provides the most effective prevention.
