ABSTRACT

Music can play an important role in building the relationship between young people and between a young person and teacher. It has the potential to trigger emotions, stimulate imagination and creativity, and be a support in difficult moments and a companion to joyful moments. Research has shown that teachers can achieve tangible benefits by introducing techniques based on music into their practice. The Polish Association for Therapy through Art supervised the training of teachers from a school in Poland. The teachers gradually, but not without some hesitation, became enthusiasts of arts experiences as complements to their teaching. As a result of their openness to the use of music and creative art based activities, the teachers began to change their thinking about the time they spent with their students. The introduction of even short actions based on music and art in the classroom translated into measurable positive effects for both students and teachers.
