Chronic conditions need different expertise and training most of the time, and they represent a complex medical puzzle. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a condition in which the airways in the lungs become damaged, making it increasingly difficult for air to move in and out. COPD is often associated with inflammation of the airways that can lead to cough and production of phlegm. The physicians have been asked to be moral and legal gatekeepers in identifying legitimate pain patients. Pain is the number one reason why patients visit medical facilities. From the commission of the Congress notes, the committee had to mandate educational initiatives at medical and dental schools to tighten opioid prescribing, and funding a program to expand access to medications used to treat addictions. Every time a patient looks suspicious, they should be placed automatically in the database to control substance to prevent medicine shopping.
