ABSTRACT

The exploration of aggression had been a point of interest for psychologists and philosophers long before Bandura introduced the world to his Bobo doll experiments. Those experiments gave birth to a psychological school of thought that was later labelled ‘social learning theory’. Bandura’s research, in short, suggested that our behaviours were not governed by innate traits or genetic impulses, but that our environments – the human environment in particular – shapes the way we behave.
