ABSTRACT

Lean is the cultural commitment of organizations to implementing the scientific method in designing, conducting, and improving work sustainably through teamwork, bringing in better and measurable value to the patients and stakeholders of other hospitals. This book shows how Lean managed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of certain units in particular and hospitals overall. From these results, the book summarises that Lean contains six principles. They are: Lean is an attitude toward continuous improvement; Lean means creating value; Lean is a unity of purpose; Lean appreciates working people; Lean is visual; and Lean is flexible. By holding onto these principles, the book identifies the changes in hospitals in Indonesia, and illustrates a form example that can be used by managers who strive to apply Lean implementation in their hospitals by identifying waste in their areas.
