ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on introducing the overarching methodology that is used in the book, that is, explaining-outcome process-tracing, data, and methods. In order to implement the overarching methodology on the question of why the ethno-territorial party (BDP) increased its vote share in the 2011 national elections though the mainstream party (AKP) had initiated the Kurdish opening process, predicted evidence should be collected from each step of the process. In this sense, this chapter legitimizes the relevance of employing various methods under the overarching methodology and the data source by explaining how different pieces come together to answer the research question of the book.
