ABSTRACT

Since this is, by and a large, a book for people who have no significant background in the study of philosophy, a list of suggested readings should be tailored to their needs. I am trying to imagine how Phillip would guide Nicholas's further readings in philosophy. The list should not be so extensive that it would overwhelm Nicholas. It would attempt to combine the clarity and linguistic familiarity of contemporary readings with some more difficult selections from the history of philosophy. In the spirit of the dialogues, let's listen in on one final bit of conversation, perhaps when they meet for those last few "lighthearted" beers.
