ABSTRACT

The age of revolution would serve as a bridge between an antiquated system and a new and more dynamic world economy. One of the dominant characteristics that spanned the turn of the eighteenth century was the phenomenon of revolution. The American Revolution influenced events in France in a more indirect way. The impact of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars on both Europe and the wider world was enormous. Both the French and American revolutions profoundly influenced developments in Ireland, where each movement had a significant, albeit a very different, impact. a combination of accumulated grievances associated with Spanish reforms, French policy decisions, and the speed of events triggered revolutions in Spanish America. While the colonial revolutions were under way, what has been referred to as the industrial revolution was gaining momentum in England. The defenders of the term industrial revolution point to the ratio of population relative to production.
