ABSTRACT

Class interests, as limits- of extension of a specific class practice, are displaced according to the interests of the other classes present. The concept of differentiated social classes arises when the productive forces attain a certain level of development. Armando Entralgo says: Where there are social groups with class-like characteristics in the capitalist sense , the general framework is mostly characterized by the existence of groups or strata of 'elders' whose contradictions, generally manageable and acceptable, have a decisive influence on the behaviour of the 'new' classes and sectors. Colonial relations of production are maintained in Guinea-Bissau through its social structure and the interests of various social strata. Our interpretation of power relations in Guinea-Bissau implicitly includes a definition of the relationship between forces of production and the relations of production. The budget of the Guinean state has been characterized by an extensive deficit that has rebounded on the balance of payments.
