ABSTRACT

Jagienka Wilczak, a reporter for the weekly journal Polityka came to the Akwen, the building where Solidarity offices were located, to gather material for an article about the coming Solidarity congress. She conducted several interviews with important officials of the union. Word by word Wilczak worked her way to questions about the presidency. This was a topic widely discussed in Lech Walesa's presence, and Pusz, forgetting himself, treated the reporter to several spicy details. Politics is Lech's personal province. Whoever thinks that Lech is influenced by his advisors is wrong. The enthusiasm during the reception given by both houses of Congress to greet Vaclav Havel was only vaguely reminiscent to that created by an earlier visitor—Lech Walesa, a common citizen.
