ABSTRACT
There are great uncertainties regarding which forces NATO commanders would have available in the nordic area in event of a conflict. They know pretty well what the Danish, Norwegian, and German forces consist of. What they could not be sure of would be their state of readiness when any conflict began. They would also have to tussle with allied political leaders regarding reinforcements.
