The Ligachev-Yakovlev exchange, Chebrikov's interview, and the conservative PRAVDA articles prompted not only speculations about a new flare-up in the Politburo but also rumors of forthcoming personnel changes in the Soviet leadership. The Yugoslav TANJUG Press Agency stressed precisely this point in its report on Gorbachev's visit in Eastern Siberia.
