ABSTRACT

This chapter covers materials dealing mainly with the processes of United States diplomacy. The focus is on processes, to differentiate from works dealing with issues of policy, although this is extremely difficult, as the two aspects of United States foreign relations are closely linked. Listed are materials dealing with the United States Department of State and the Presidency as principal agents of United States foreign relations. An effort has been made to highlight the particulars of United States diplomatic methods and to list case studies of negotiations.
