ABSTRACT
Mandy grew up in a northern Westchester city, her orthodox Jewish parents’ “golden girl.” They lived in an essentially non-Jewish community and she lives now in an integrated Hartsdale school district (Central 7) because she wanted her children also to grow up knowing all kinds of people. Mandy’s parents are not enrolled in a party because her father, a professional, did not want to offend anyone, but she thinks they are basically Republican.
