ABSTRACT

The All-Parties Muslim Conference continued to exist alongside the Muslim League. Jinnah read the press reports about the move of the All-Parties Muslim Conference. The 14-point resolution was comprehensive and tried to bring all the Muslim demands under a single head. Jinnah also heard that the Congress session, presided over by Pandit Motilal Nehru, had fully approved the Nehru report and had sent an ultimatum to the British that if the report were not adopted by the British within a year the Congress would demand purna swaraj rather than dominion status. Jinnah also saw that a group of Congressite Muslims was trying to organize the Muslim masses in support of the Nehru report. The time for the open session of the reconvened Muslim League had come. People had gathered outside the pandal; the chairman's seat was vacant, awaiting Jinnah.
