ABSTRACT
“The seizure of property occurs when there is some meaningful interference with an individual’s possessory interest in that property.” The seizures discussed in this chapter are seizures of things or items, as opposed to seizures of persons. The leading cases briefed in this chapter on seizures in general are Schmerber v. California and Winston v. Lee.
