ABSTRACT

Over the past decade, a publishing industry has emerged filled with books to help scientists in their efforts to publish their research in English-language journals. A number of the books being published make no distinction regarding whether their intended reader is an Anglophone located in the centre countries of the United States, United Kingdom and so on, or, alternatively, a person who uses English as an additional language and may or may not be located in periphery or semi-periphery countries (Kachru, 2006; Wallerstein, 1991). Other books, however, such as ours, are written for more specific audiences: plurilingual EALs located in the periphery or semi-periphery.
