ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Teacher Evaluation: Understanding the Research and Theory. It discusses the central theories, concepts, and findings from psychology, economics, and sociology that relate to teacher evaluation and provides an overview of findings regarding teacher evaluation’s goals to improve instruction and hold teachers accountable.
