ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how to structure the technology adoption side of CHΔNGE™ initiative project. The purpose of the organizational readiness team (ORT) is to lead and manage the cultural, behavioral, and operational changes that need to take place, so that users are willing and able to successfully transition to the state. The ORT works collaboratively to develop realistic plans to prepare people and get them involved in how the implementation will be done. A key responsibility of the ORT is to develop and socialize readiness definitions. A readiness definition describes, in behavioral and observable terms, the key characteristics of someone who is ready for an aspect of implementation. Definitions are typically created by role and can be either high level or granular, depending on the need. There are generally several main project phases for any large CHΔNGE™ initiative. The project begins with the initial planning phase and transitions through implementation, stabilization, optimization and finally, benefit realization.
