ABSTRACT
The sweet serenity which always filled the heart and mind of Elvira made us think she must have appeared first upon earth in all the charm of a Florentine spring, rather than amidst the heat of summer. In fact, it was on 27th July in 1851 that she made her entrance into this world, and if her soul maybe likened to spring in its poetry, it must be likened to a summer in its love; a love which gladdened the sad days of autumn and tempered the cold days of winter.
