ABSTRACT
Elvira’s ardent love for souls arose spontaneously from her love of Jesus and the contemplation of His Passion. She realized their value from her long meditation on Jesus agonizing in the Garden or dying upon the Cross for their redemption: “I feel such happiness in loving my sweet Jesus that it makes me sad to think of the great number of unhappy souls that love Him not.”
