ABSTRACT

It had been quite a stressful year of “have to”s leading up to Lena’s first year of college. She had always been the rock of the family since her Dad passed away, but the months before college proved to be overwhelming: She was managing the hurdles of financial aid and scholarships, her mother was struggling with separation anxiety and lashing out, she worked full time at a clothing retailer, and she was trying to teach her younger siblings the daily responsibilities they would need to take care of once she was gone.
