ABSTRACT
IT was in the eleventh month of the year of the Fire Tiger (1926) that I met Djalserai and Jetom in the temple city of Mundy. They had come to pay their clan’s annual tribute of costly furs to the “Living Buddha”, who lived there; I to have a good rest after a summer of tiring travel.
