ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the role of context in communication (physical, cultural, professional, and cultural), and background. It also examines ‘coherence’ and ‘cohesion’ in texts and defines what a ‘text’ is. The chapter also looks at repetition as an interactional feature of discourse and interaction.
