ABSTRACT

The foundational understandings in the first nine chapters prepare for the specific instruction in how to handle and express emotion begun in Chapter 10. Steps given in the process are honestly understanding emotion and changing self-talk in order to Handle It! by applying the A, B, Cs learned in Chapter 3. Inner change includes embracing Help Talk to assist in emotion management. The physiological sensations that correlate with the challenging emotions are described. How anger is experienced in the body is its locus or physiological place where visceral emotion is felt. Sports and other physical activities are then described as crucial adjuncts of anger management plans to expel visceral anger. Coaches and resource officers may become critical change agents to steer rage into intense exercise and sports. The chapter’s five activities include the final portion of the Anger Management Plan. Should Inventory: Shoulds About Me is the activity sheet.
