ABSTRACT

The conclusion considers how learning emotional openness will be easier for teens than for adults. Authentic emotive interaction between teens and educators will evolve as emotional intelligence is developed. Counselors and educators are encouraged to themselves joyously learn with their teens. Remaining in step B to slow down and breathe allows the adult brain to learn the A, B, Cs of constructive emotional engagement. Stifling emotional development took practice, so those who have been so practicing for decades must allow their brains time to learn emotive authenticity. Counselors and educators are advised to keep their own emotional journey simple and purposely avoid making what is inherently simple into something confusingly complex. Educators are invited to consider themselves with both gentleness and steady firmness as they accept their privileged place in history as nurturers of emotional intelligence.
