ABSTRACT

One day Boyan Hishik turned up at our house, where he seemed to like his quarters, for he stayed with us a long time. One day when Dangsurong rode to the forest to try and find the snow-covered strychnine, Hishik went with him and came back full of plans for all one might do if one had enough of that commodity. He suggested that I should fetch more of the poison from the farm and undertook to find plenty of buyers. When I answered that we had no more strychnine at the farm than we needed ourselves, he confided in me that he had just come from Bulgun Tal and that several of his acquaintances had bought strychnine from the farm.
